Obafemi Awolowo University is pleased to welcome Prof Abigail Harrison, a visiting scholar from the Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences, Brown University, Rhode Island, USA. Prof Harrison is an international mentor for the CARTA Shine project and will be spending a week in OAU as part of the CARTA Shine Project.

The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) program enhances the capacity of African universities to create sustainable multidisciplinary research hubs by supporting junior faculty members to undertake their doctoral training locally and to become internationally recognised research leaders. The College is proud to have over 8 of her faculty as CARTA fellows.
The CARTA Shine Project is a CARTA post-doctoral grant won by Prof Boladale Mapayi in 2022 to interrogate the culture around sexual harassment in first generation federal universities in Southwestern Nigeria. Prof Morenike Ukpong is the institutional mentor for this grant and other members of the team include Drs Ibidun Oloniniyi, Olakunle Oginni, and Funto Fehintola.
